14-Aug-2008 - Europoles donates to support the environment |
| Regional Society for Protection of Birds and Association for Protection of the Landscape profit from the Fourth Europoles Summer Fest |
 |
By making two donations, Europoles – manufacturers of poles, masts, and towers – has supported environmental protection work in its district of Neumarkt. The Regional Society for Protection of Birds and the Association for Protection of the Landscape each received cheques for 500 euros. The donated amount resulted from the profits from the Fourth Europoles Summer Fest, which the mast and tower specialist in Neumarkt organized for its staff and their friends and family.
At company headquarters, Georg Simson (from the Energy Business Unit) and Helmut Reinhardt (from Quality Management) presented the donations to Dr. Bernd Söhnlein, Chairman of the Regional Society for Protection of Birds, and to Werner Thumann, Director of the Habsberg Environmental Education Centre.
The Regional Society for Protection of Birds will use the funds for landscape cultivation in the Neumarkt region. At the same time, the 500 euros donated to each group will be doubled. These donations are covered under the campaign until the end of August financed by the world-famous musician Jack Johnson. As part of his world tournament, the musician will match all donations during his tour for those donors who are affiliated with him.
The Association for Protection of the Landscape in Neumarkt, Bavaria, intends to invest its 500 euros in outfitting its Environmental Education and Regional Development Centre in the Neumarkt district. The Habsberg Bird Protection Centre will use the funds to buy binoculars for for observation of birds.
