Europoles donates 2000 euros to special school

[Feb 19, 2011]

'Variety is the thing' - under this motto, trainees at the associated training companies Europoles, Rail. One and wodego designed calendars for the year 2011. The nifty annual planners could be obtained in return for a voluntary donation. Just lately a check from the proceeds, to the value of 2000 euros, was presented to the Comenius School for children with special needs in Hilpoltstein.

A young team with a lot of commitment
Three trainees - Florian Eckersberger (from Europoles), Sonja Guth and Katrin Röger (both from wodego) - were responsible for the design, realization and sale of the calendar. The team handed over the entire profits from the venture to Renate Merk-Neunhoeffer, Director of the Comenius School. The donation will make it possible for the school to purchase touch computers, which will open up new possibilities of communication for its children and young people.

Europoles Managing Director Hendrik Schulz comments: 'Based on our commitment to the Comenius School, the calendar project has given our trainees the opportunity of developing their own creative ideas and realizing them on their own initiative. At the same time it develops their sense of social responsibility.'

A real collectors' piece in high demand
The Training Calendar for 2011 was independently planned, designed and realized by the project team during working hours. Europoles covered all the costs of production. There was big demand at all Europoles branches - by this time the calendars have acquired the status of a collectors' item. With the motto chosen for the project - 'Variety is the thing' - the three apprentices have creatively highlighted the many-sidedness of the three companies Europoles, Rail. One and wodego.

Delighted looks all round - when the check for the donation was handed over, students and representatives of the Comenius School in Hilpoltstein were all smiles, as were the Europoles staff attending.
